I shopped hard for a new electric kettle. I was a happy user of a Braun, but it had a lot of plastic, so when it died, I decided I wanted stainless. Unfortunately, most of the stainless products on the market have some plastic touching the water - here's a problem folks - how can you see how full the kettle is without a viewer, and can it be glass instead of plastic on any of these puppies?

Anyway, after looking at lots of products, I decided to go with the Aroma kettle for two reasons. One, it seemed to work without having postconsumer taste issues (weird that the glass ones had such issues, eh?) Two, the plastic contact with water is extremely minimal - there's a little outspout in plastic that fills the fill tube to show you how full the kettle is, and the lid is plastic (can that be stainless next time Aroma people?) There's also a plastic filter near the out spout.

So, for the 100% no plastic people, this kettle won't work. But it's a fraction of the price, works great, has no flavor in the water, and the handle is perfectly cool. All in all, an excellent kettle and way better than my old plastic one.

This great kettle works perfectly, and it's design makes it really attractive. I have it next to my sink in my dorm, where it boils my water really well. It can heat your water a lot, and if your like me, you wouldn't want it any other way. I recommend this greatly.
