I received this cooker as a gift and was extremely pleased with it. I made a variety of different dishes. Uses include making delicate as well as hearty sauces, steaming, boiling water for noodles, an even deep frying. It has a greater capacity and greater ease of use than a Fry Daddy. The non-stick interior and exterior makes for quick clean up and the fact that it is fully submerssible (sp?) is a nice convenience.

I purchased this fryer a couple of years ago and had great luck with it for a year (probably used it 4 times that year). Then the heating "element" died. The probe would not activate the heat, which I have no idea how or where to replace. So I am in the market for a new one.

I have a couple crock pots but I wanted something a little faster and versatile. And I've wanted a deep fryer too so this looked like the perfect solution for what I wanted. One of the main things that sold me on it was the no stick coating in it. It figures, that was the thing that failed the first time that I used it.
The first time I used it I did a small pot of ham & beans. The beans I used were grown in my dads garden and dried. They're like pinto beans but these are red & white and we've always called them Indian beans. Any who, to my surprise, the "no stick coating" inside it blistered up at the level of the ham & beans inside.
Later when I was washing it out in the sink a band of the "No Stick Coating" about a half inch to a inch wide that had blistered up around the inside and had started coming off. I was only using one of those balls of plastic mesh that are supposed to be "no scratch".
I used it one more time to slow cook a kettle of home made vegetable beef soup. It was ruined by a bunch of the no stick coating coming off and contaminating everything in it.
I had bought it at Walmart and by the second time that I used it the 90 day limit for returns had passed so I'm stuck with it. That was a couple of years ago and I still haven't figured out what to do with the thing. I'm afraid to use it to cook anything because more of that coating would come loose and ruin anything it and I cant return it. I guess that I could use my angle grinder with a scotch bright pad or sanding pad on it and take the rest of the coating off down to the bare mettle. But that would pretty much defeat the whole purpose of having a slow cooker/deep fryer with a "no stick coating" in it.

After getting a comment on my review I dug the cooker out of the cupboard and took some pictures of the inside of it and shot a short video of it. I still haven't used it again since the last time when flakes of the Teflon got into the soup that I made in it.
